My adventure into watercolor began in my high school art class. Once introduced to it I knew that it was something that I wanted to revisit. When our youngest was a senior in high school I found a wonderful watercolor instructor. That was in 2006. I continue to learn and grow in this beautiful medium.
Normally I paint in bright, vivid colors. I’m experimenting with some more earthy tones yet still strong and vibrant. I was introduced to the method I’m playing with right now by one of my students. I apply paint straight from the tube (2 or 3 colors) onto the edge of a pallet knife or credit card. I then scrape it across my paper. Then with a brush loaded with water I touch some on the edges and watch it go!
I’m painting in smaller sizes right now since I just had shoulder surgery four weeks ago and don’t have full range of motion yet.
Thank you for sharing my exploratory adventure with me. If any of my work interests you please get in touch with me by email mooreart4you@gmail.com or by using the contact page on this website.
